POSITION: LPN/Teacher Aide

(One-to-One with Disabled Pupil)

LOCATION: M.W. Cuyler Elementary School

EFFECTIVE DATE: Immediately

SALARY: $12,825 Base ($7.50 Per Hour)

HOURS: Approx. Nine (9) Hours Daily
School year – Approx. 190 days

JOB DESCRIPTION: (Partial)

1. Carries out therapeutic treatments such as breathing treatments, administration of certain medications in accordance with established policy and under the direction of the School Registered Professional Nurse.
2. Takes temperature, rate of pulse and respiration; records required data.
3. Assists student in ambulating and physical needs as necessary.
4. Assists particular pupil during daily learning activities.
5. Assists in monitoring the pupil in the classroom and other areas of the building.
6. Works with pupil in activities under the supervision of a teacher.
7. Performs other related duties as may be assigned by the administration.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Eligibility for a license issued by the State of New York to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Must have possession of the license at the time of appointment;
2. Completion of four-year high school program or equivalent;
3. Ability to interact with pupils positively;
4. Willingness to work closely, cooperatively, and efficiently with teachers, students, and other building staff;
5. Ability to write legibly and take proper notes;
6. Operates various office machines, including personal computers;
7. Demonstrates promptness and consistent attendance pattern.
