Performance Indicator
Students describe the major stages in the life cycles of selected plants and animals

Core Curriculum
 Know a life cycle is the sequence of events, from birth to death, of an organism
 
Know the definition and process of germination

 
Know different ways in which plants reproduce
  Know the changes plants go through from seed to matur
e plant
 
Know that life cycle stages of different organisms may be different (e.g. insects, plants, mammals, birds)
  Know that metamorphosis is the transformation of an organism into adult form; know animals that exhibit 
           metamorphosis  (e.g. caterpillar into a butterfly, tadpole into a frog)
