2008 Varsity Cross Country
2008 Junior High Cross Country
Head Coach: David Briggs
November 1st, 2008
The boys and girls cross country teams travelled to
Marcus Whitman for Sectionals. B. Lewis and A. Markowski led the way for
the boys. Lewis finished 4th in his division with a time of 18:11 just
missing the chance to qualify for States. Markowski finished in 6th place.
Both runners received sectional shields for their efforts. A. Lyons, R.
Richards, J. Brown, and M. Wilson also contributed to a 6th place team finish
for the boys.
The girls were led by M. Parsons and M. Mayo. Parsons
finished in 10th place in her division with a time of 22:25 just a fraction
ahead of Mayo who finished 11th. Parsons effort was good enough to earn
her a second sectional shield. K. Dauphin finished in 20th place for the
girls. A. Kellogg, A. Kawar, S. Wimler, and M. Bell helped pace the girls
team to a 5th place team finish.
October 25th, 2008
The cross country team travelled to Clyde-Savannah for
the Wayne/Finger Lakes Championships. Despite the wet and muddy conditions Red
Creek runners still performed well. B. Lewis took home first place honors in
the Western Division, followed by A. Markowski’s 2nd place finish.
M. Mayo finished in 7th place while M. Parsons finished in 10th
place. All four members received All-League Honors for their efforts.
October 14th, 2008
The Cross Country Team travelled to Bloomfield. B. Lewis
led the way with his 1st place finish, followed closely by A.
Markowski who finished in 2nd place. For the girls team M. Parsons
finished in the top 10 against some tough competition, followed by K. Dauphin.
October 10th, 2008
The cross country teams competed in the Wayne County
Invitational. The boys team took home 2nd place honors overall with
B. Lewis earning 1st place honors overall with a time of 17:38. A.
Markowski earned 2nd place honors overall. R. Richards, M. Wilson,
J. Brown and D. Ford all chipped in to help the team secure 2nd place
honors. T. Richards also received honors as a top Junior Varsity runner. M.
Parsons had another strong performance finished in 2nd place overall
with a time of 21:49. K.Dauphin earned 7th place honors.
October 7th, 2008
The cross country team travelled to Penn Yan to compete
at Keuka Lake State Park. Leading the boys team was B. Lewis who took 3rd
place overall with a time of 18:27, followed closely by A. Markowski who
finished 6th with a time of 18:45. Pacing the girls team was M. Mayo
(9th place 22:49). K. Dauphin chipped in with a 18th
place finish in a time of 24:53.
September 30th, 2008
B. Lewis led the way for the boys cross country team
taking 1st place honors out of 54 runners with a time of 18:09,
followed by A. Markowski (2nd), and R. Richards (14th)
contributed to a solid performance.
The girls were led by M. Parsons (2nd) with a time
of 22:41, M. Mayo (4th), K. Dauphin (7th) also ran great
races for the girls team.
September 23rd, 2008
The cross country team hosted their only home meet of the
season competing with Marcus Whitman, Lyons, and NR-W. Brandon Lewis took first
place overall with a time of 17:34. The boys beat Lyons but came up short
against Marcus Whitman and NR-W.
The girls team ran a spectacular race taking the top 3
positions overall and beating all three visitors. Leading the way was the trio
of Molly Parsons (21:27), Morgan Mayo (21:28), and Kim Dauphin (22:09).
September 16th, 2008
The girls cross country team was led by a strong performance
from M. Mayo earning a top ten finish. Finishing just behind Mayo was M.
Parsons. The girls defeated host Midlakes but came up short against Wayne
and Mynderse.
Leading the way for the boys were B. Lewis and A. Markowski.
A. Lyons also ran a strong race to help the boys beat Mynderse, but they also
came up short against Wayne and Midlakes.
September 9th, 2008
The cross country
team kicked off their season running against DeSales, HAC and Newark. The girls
were led by M. Parsons second place finish (23:59), M. Mayo (3rd with
a time of 24:00). The girls beat DeSales and HAC and lost to Newark 27-28. The
boys were led by B. Lewis second place finish and A. Markowski (3rd
place). A. Lyons chipped in with a 14th place finish. The boys also
beat DeSales and HAC while falling to Newark.
September 4th, 2008
The cross country team traveled to Clyde-Savannah to compete
in the 3rd annual Wayne-Finger Lakes Coaches Invitational. Earning
top ten honors for the Boys were T.Richards, A. Markowski, B.Lewis. Earning top
ten honors for the Girls were K. Dauphin, M. Mayo, and M. Parsons
