2007-08 BOYS TRACK TEAM
Varsity Record (W-L-T) Head Boys Coach: David Briggs Head Girls Coach: Joe Bonanno MAY 14, 2008 The boys team secured a second place standing in the league after defeating Williamson 85-56. The strength of our team caught Williamson off guard as we took many first places, 18 personal records and one new school record. Rob R. set a new school record in the 110 high hurdles with a time of 17.8. The 4x800 team of Jeremy V, Brandon L, Aaron M, and Eli V, took first setting a new personal record of 8:52.1. Brandon L, and Aaron M, once again paced the 1 and 2 mile races. The 4x400 relay team of Brandon L, Max P, Andrew M, and Jeremy V put on a great show placing first and setting a new personal record of 3:42.5. Nick H took first in the shot put with a throw of 40'9" along with Kiernan Tubolino's 94' discus throw.
MAY 12, 2008 The boys team came up short in the deciding match for 1st place in Wayne County, losing to Marion 79-62. The 4x800 relay team of Aaron M, Brandon L, Jeremy V, and Eli V. set a personal record. The 4x400 relay team of Brandon L, Andrew M, Jeremy V, and Max P. set a personal record with a time of 3:45.
MAY 10, 2008 Brandon L. and Aaron M had phenomenal days at the 21st Annual Weedsport Invitational. Brandon took home 4th place in the mile with a time of 4:49. Aaron also took home 4th place in the 2 mile with a time of 10:39. Jeremy V, Andrew M, Brandon L, and Max P. took home 4th place in the sprint medley. Max P. and took home Andrew M. took home 3rd and 6th place finishes respectively in the long jump. Jeremy V. took home 5ht place in the 800m race.
MAY 7, 2008 The boys track team dominated East Rochester by the score of 103-34, improving their record to 6-1. Rob R. took first in both the 110 and 400 hurdles. Brandon L. continued his winning streak with three close races in the 100, 200, and the 1600. Andrew M. tied for first in the 400, followed by a sweep in the 800 ran by Eli V, Jeremy V, Jim B, and Braiden L. Aaron M. won the 3200. Ben G. threw 101'6" in the discus. Max P. set a new school record in the long jump with a jump of 20'1". Red Creek Girls track team secures a winning season by beating East Rochester last night by the score of 75-61. Morgan M. continued her winning ways by edging out East Rochester's best distance runner in the 1500 meter run and easily winning the 3000 meter run. Molly P. won the 400 meter and 200 meter races with ease. Rachel W. posted some important 2nd place finishes in both the 400 meter and 200 meter races. Freshman Alia K. jumped her way to victory in the long jump, and posted a personal best in the 100meter hurdles. Lekiesha D. won the shot put with a throw of 25 feet and 1 inch. The 4 by 100 meter relay team of Rachel W, Susana M, Sierra V, and Renee W. coasted to victory. The 4 by 400 meter relay team of Susana M, Samantha W, Sierra V, and Rachel W. took home the gold to cap a great evening for the entire track and field team. MAY 5, 2008
Last night the Girls track and field team beat
Gananda
by the score of 81-60. This improved the Girls' overall record to 4-2 this
season. Pacing the girls was Rachel G. as she took 1st place in both the Long
Jump and the 100 meter dash. Morgan M. ran her way to victory as the anchor of
the 4 by 800 meter relay that included Susana M, Samantha W, and Kimberly D.
Morgan also muscled out a great 1500 meter run edging out
Ganandas'
best runner in the last 10 meters of the race. Molly P. took control of the 400
meter dash, 200 meter dash, triple jump and
achored
a great 4 by 400 meter relay team of Susana M, Sierra V, and Rachel W. Also
performing well was Grace W. in the 100 meter hurdles and Erika D. in the 200M
dash The meet was won on many 2nd and 3rd place finishes. The boys team came home with their 5th league victory of the season beating Gananda 99-42. Max P. had a great day breaking the school long jump record. The new school record stands at 19'4".
MAY 2, 2008 The boys track and field team headed over to Cato for their invitational meet. The team took home 7 first places, 4 second places, 1 third place and 7 forth places. Brandon L. ran a 4:57.7 in the mile, while Aaron M. ran a time of 11:05 in the two mile. The 4x400 and 4x800 relay teams both took home 1st place finishes. In the six field events the Red Creek team took home 4 first place finishes and 1 second place finish.
APRIL 30, 2008 The Girls Track and Field team held their home meet against Lyons and Clyde-Savannah. Red Creek ended up beating Lyons by a score of 76-65 and losing to Clyde-Savannah by a score of 75-63. The win was decided by girls gaining crucial points in 2nd and 3rd place efforts in their respective events. The girls improved their overall record to 3-2 and 2-2 in league play. Some of the nights highlights included a stellar performance from all the girls in the 4x800 meter relay. They posted their best time of the season (11:22.2 seconds). This relay team consisted of Susana M, Kim D, Samantha W, and Morgan M. Other great efforts were recorded by Lekeisha D. in the Discus, Emily C. in the High Jump, the dynamic distance duo of Morgan M. and Kim D, and Captain Molly P. took 1st place overall in the 400 meter dash, 200 meter dash, and anchored the 4x400 meter relay winning team that also included Rachel W, Sierra V, and Susana M. Great Job to all Ladies! The Boys Track and Field team dominated the meet last night defeating Lyons 83 to 56, and beating Clyde Savannah 99-43. Standing out were Brandon L's three individual 1st place finishes in the 100m, 800m, and one mile run. Brandon also contributed to a 1st place finish in the 4x800 meter relay. Other members of the relay team include Jeremy V, Aaron M, and Eli V. Other 1st places were recorded by Max P. in the high jump and the 400m clearing a height of 5'6" in the high jump and a time of 54.7 seconds in the 400m. Andrew M. finished a close second in the 400m with a time of 55.6 seconds. Aaron M once again led the team in the two mile run with a time of 11:17.3. Setting a new personal record of 10 feet in the pole vault landing Josh M. a spot in sectionals. APRIL 25, 2008 The girls track squad went north to compete in the Lady Bucs Relays at Oswego Middle School. Red Creek was represented well gaining multiple top 6 performances in a number of events including a record-breaking Sprint Medley Relay team of Molly P, Renee W, Rachel G, and Morgan M. Breaking another school record in the Distance Medley Relay was Kim D, Sierra V, Samantha W, and Morgan M. Molly P. jumped a season best 32' 3" in Triple Jump, Freshman Emily C. also posted some great sprinting and a personal best in the Triple Jump. and Krystal H. continued to post personal bests in Shot Put and Discus. Great Job to ALL ladies as we look forward to league meets against Clyde-Savannah and Lyons this week as well as the Cato-Meridian Invitational this Friday. APRIL 23, 2008 The Girls Track squad visited North Rose Wolcott and muscled out a 71-66 victory in Wayne County League action. Leading the way was Junior Captian Molly P. Molly won the Triple Jump with a distance of 30'6" and sprinted her way to a 1st place finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 62.8 seconds. Putting forth other outstanding efforts were the distance duo of Morgan M. and Kim D., high jumper and hurdler Rachel G., Discus thrower Krystal H., Captains Renee and Rachel W., and the 4x400 meter relay team of Rachel W., Kirsite K., Susana M., and Molly P. APRIL 9, 2008 The boys track team traveled to Hannibal for a non-league meet and came away with an impressive 104-36 victory. Many impressive times and distances were posted.
