This is the Conclusion Page for the Poetry Quest

(Wrapping things up)

In this poetry quest, you have discovered many types of poetry.

Part 1:

By creating your booklet and teaching others about the types of poetry that exist, your sense of the many forms of poetry has increased. Your knowledge of the poetic elements has also been expanded, and this will help you when you complete future assignments where you need to pick out poetic elements and explain them in a criticism.

Part 2:

As far as writing your own poems, Theodore Roethke once said, "Sometimes an apparent constraint can serve to free the imagination."

Did you find that to be true? how would you rate the quality of the poems you wrote compared to poems written outside of this assignment?

By writing poems in the different forms, your ability to deal with "constraints" in writing has been sharpened.

On to the Teacher Page!
