15 Red Creek Students Receive 2023 Central New York Scholastic Art Awards

January 9th, 2023 - In January, 15 Red Creek High School and Middle School students received a 2023 Central New York Scholastic Art Award.

Getting this special recognition is no easy feat. Each year, more than 4,000 pieces of art from about 200 teachers and about 90 schools are submitted for judging. More than 70 professional artists, educators and photographers select award winners during the judging process.

Three of our students were awarded the Gold Key, which is the highest honor. Four students took home a Silver Key and seven students received honorable mentions.

An award ceremony will be held on January 17th in the SRC Arena on the Onondaga Community College campus. Red Creek students will also take a field trip to OCC to visit the gallery and see the artwork. Their artwork will be on display on the OCC campus through March 3rd.

“The Art Department is so very proud of our young artists,” said Nicole Czeck and Shannon Brett, who run the High School and Middle School art departments respectively. “All our students have created some remarkable pieces of art.”  You can view all their artwork by visiting our Photo Gallery on
