NYSCOPBA Presents Red Creek Students and Admin with One-Thousand Dollar Check

December 27th, 2022- On Thursday, December 22nd, the New York State Corrections Officer and Police Benevolent Association Auburn Sector awarded the Red Creek Central School District $1,000 to help students in need this holiday season. Members from NYSCOPBA presented the check to students and administrators.

Red Creek CSD was one of six schools in the Finger Lakes Region to be selected by NYSCOPBA. “Our whole goal was to get out to these schools and help in any way we can,” said one of the Union stewards. “We have members who have children who come to these schools, and we want to do our part to help the communities.”

The initial funds will be used to help buy winter boots and jackets for students in our district. “We have had a lot of parents come to our teachers and say winter clothing is a major need right now,” said Jennifer DeVinney, Director of Grants and Community Schools. “This grant gives us a lot of flexibility to make that happen quickly.”

The remainder of the funds will be put into a grant account and used to help families when they are in need.

“On behalf of the Red Creek Central School District, we would like to thank NYSCOPBA for choosing us,” said Jennifer DeVinney. “This will have a major impact for individual students and their families.”
