Parking Lot Traffic Pattern Changes

Parking Lot Traffic Pattern Changes

Spring is nearly here – and we are excited to see warmer days soon. We have waited through this long winter to be able to put shovels in the ground for Phase 1 of the District’s $32 million capital project. Beginning March 24, 2025, Phase 1 of the District’s capital improvement project will be underway. This construction will impact the flow of traffic through District parking lots, especially in front of the Middle School, M.W. Cuyler Elementary school and the Community Center.

This phase of the project includes partial replacement of the M.W. Cuyler Elementary, Middle School, and Community Center roofs. There may be some disruption to Community Center hours during this construction period when it is not possible to keep the space open during construction. The District will strive to minimize these disruptions and will send out notification as quickly as possible.

Parking spaces will be reserved in front of the Community Center to minimize disruption there. These spaces are indicated in blue on the traffic pattern map. Spaces will also be fenced off in front of the Community Center for District contractors.

To ensure parents still have access for student pick-up and drop-off, a row of parking spaces will not be available. Instead, this space will be used as a driving lane to connect parents to the regular pick-up and drop-off area.  This will minimize disruption caused by the fenced off area.

We currently anticipate that this phase of construction will be completed by the Fall of 2025. We recognize that this construction can be disruptive to activities, but please know that this work is essential in making our school an even better place for our students and community. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we begin construction.
