Red Creek Competes in Tech Wars at SUNY Oswego
Red Creek joined schools from Oswego, Wayne Central, Mynderse Academy, and Hannibal to compete in Tech Wars at SUNY Oswego. The all-day event featured challenges such as CO2 car races, catapult building, air racers, and cardboard boat races.
The team of Aiden N., Lilli H., and Tiffany S. won first place in the cardboard boat race competition.
Tiffany S. also won first place in the air racer competition.
Students enjoyed lunch and a tour of Oswego’s technology facilities, where they met Red Creek alumnus David Southwick, now a student in the Tech program. They explored 11 labs covering topics like metals, woods, plastics, automotive work, and electricity. A highlight was the Transportation lab, which features a suspended 1949 Cessna airplane.
It was an exciting and inspiring day, and Red Creek students are already looking forward to competing again next year.
