November 10th, 2022 - On Wednesday, November 9th, three Red Creek High School Students took home the top three prizes in the Wayne County Economic Development - Student Pitch Competition.

The students presented their business ideas to a panel of judges through the Wayne County Economic Development Corporation located in Newark. The students came up with the ideas during a project in their Digital Media class last year.

The project was similar to an episode of ABC’s Shark Tank. These students spent hours after school, working on their projects, creating a comprehensive business summary, cash flow analysis and five-minute video pitch. The project was sponsored through the 21st Century Grant.

Junior Nathaniel Holmes took 3rd place in the competition and won $650 for his product, the Grava-GABA. Senior Hannah MacArthur came in 2nd place, winning $1,200 for her app design called X15. Junior Patrick Boyle took 1st place and a grand prize of $1,500 for his app, Magnify.

Red Creek School District was also awarded $1,000 for being the top scoring district. That money will help students in the district continue with their entrepreneurship endeavors.
