November 29, 2022 - Robert “Bob” Monroe was an active and contributing Member of the Red Creek and North Rose-Wolcott Communities. He was a teacher, coach, mentor, tutor, teammate, leader, and friend. Through his service to others, he made a lasting impression on countless individuals.  Bob always loved to help people whether it was teaching or tutoring them in math, coaching them in wrestling or tennis, or helping to fix/remodel something at the church or in someone’s home. He knew that everyone was capable of learning no matter what their physical or mental limitations.  He urged, encouraged, pushed and mentored all who came in contact with him to be the best they could be. However, most importantly he taught people how to “have fun” whether they were fixing something, learning something new, or competing at a sport. He wanted people to keep learning, growing, and understanding in body, mind, heart and soul, and to live life to its fullest.

 The Robert “Bob” Monroe Memorial Scholarship will grant two $1,500 cash awards to one male and one female graduating senior based on the following criteria:

  • Plans to attend a two- or four-year post-secondary educational institution 
  • Passion for helping others which is demonstrated through significant involvement in community and school activities
  • Determination for academic achievement
  • Dedication to physical well-being by participation in a sport
  • Demonstrates teamwork and sportsmanlike conduct
  • Consistently displays a positive, can-do attitude
  • Spirit of overall dedication, commitment, and integrity
