Science Olympiad Team Competes in the Mid-State Regional Competition at Le Moyne College

January 24th, 2023 - On Saturday, January 21st, the Red Creek Science Olympiad team competed against 33 other teams in the Mid-State Regional Competition at Le Moyne College. The team medaled in 14 of the 23 events. This led them to a 7th place finish out of 34 teams.

The team consisted of Seniors: Mackenzie Morrissette, and Aleita Mercer; Juniors: Patrick Boyle, Noel Brathen, Gwenna Haas, Ethan Hanford, Trey Naughton, Ethan Haskins and River Freer, Sophomores: Ethan Griffith, Liam Smith and Tessa Crawford, and Freshman: Christopher Boyle and Ethan Haas.  

The following students received medals:

• Patrick Boyle and River Freer taking 1st in Anatomy & Physiology

• Ethan Hanford and Ethan Haskins taking 5th in Bridge

• Patrick Boyle and Ethan Haas taking 1st in Cell Biology

• Noel Brathen and Ethan Haas taking 5th in Code Busters

• Christopher Boyle and Patrick Boyle taking 5th in Detector Building

• Patrick Boyle and Ethan Griffith taking 1st in Disease Detectives

• Mackenzie Morrissette, Aleita Mercer and Christopher Boyle taking 10th in Experimental Design

• Ethan Hanford and Christopher Boyle taking 9th in Flight

• Gwenna Haas and Ethan Haas taking 2nd in Forestry

• Patrick Boyle and Gwenna Haas taking 1st in Green Generation

• Noel Brathen and Mackenzie Morrissette taking 6th in It’s About Time

• River Freer and Tessa Crawford taking 6th in Rocks and Minerals

• Ethan Hanford and Ethan Haskins taking 6th in Trajectory

• Christopher Boyle and Mackenzie Morrissette taking 7th in WiFi Lab
