Superintendent's Message

Dear Red Creek Central District Community,

We are very excited to welcome back students for the 2022-23 school year. This year we are hopeful I that we will be able to return to a more traditional learning environment. We are welcoming and encouraging more parent and community involvement within the school as well as having more activities and opportunities that include the entire community.

We have recently received updated guidance that was approved by Governor Kathy Hochul regarding school protocol. This has loosened recommendations that had been implemented in the past by the Centers for Disease Control. This will result in a more traditional approach for the school year. As always, the safety of our students is a top priority, and we will continue with additional cleaning and safety protocols.

Enclosed with this letter, you will find some important information from your child's Principal with specific building level information. The following is district wide information that you may also find helpful.

Transportation: The phone number for the Transportation Department is (315) 754-2030. The head bus driver is April Sanko and her email is Please contact her with any transportation questions that you may have. Bus information including the driver, bus number, and approximate pickup and drop-off time will be sent home shortly. Please keep in mind that times will adjust over the course of the first few days as we settle into our routes. As you are aware, all school districts are experiencing a shortage with driving staff. We will continue to work toward resolving staffing issues. The district currently has appropriate coverage for all our runs but may be short staffed when absences occur. If we are short staffed, we will move to an alternative run schedule which will impact arrival and departure times. If we have significant absences, the district may move to a temporary remote learning platform, if needed.

Communication: Last year, the district added communication services through Wayne - Finger Lakes BOCES. The goal of this service is to provide the community with updates on the activities, accomplishments and changes that occur throughout the district. We have revised the district's website and have implemented multiple social media platforms to engage with our community. Please visit our website to connect to these platforms (
