Superintendent's Message

Dr. Greg Macaluso

I am honored to have been selected by the Red Creek Board of Education to serve as interim superintendent. I will work with the board of education, faculty, staff, students, and community to carry out the mission of the Red Creek Central School District. Together we will create a safe and supportive learning environment for all of our students, in order to prepare them with the fundamental skills and knowledge to successfully and responsibly contribute to society. We will also keep our focus on the goal to continue reviewing the district’s curriculum to ensure alignment district-wide and within New York State standards, while providing diverse educational opportunities for all students.

The history of Red Creek speaks to the fact that it is a district and community that supports  longevity in leadership. I expect that there will be a deep and talented pool of candidates who will be excited about this leadership opportunity. I will also work closely with the board of education and other stakeholders to make a smooth transition to a long-term superintendent.

I retired in 2021 after a 30-year career in education. I have experience in general education, special education, alternative education, adult education, as well as career and technical education. I have a deep appreciation of and passion for rural schools. My doctoral dissertation examined the characteristics of successful, long term rural school superintendents and their communities.

My wife Monica and I live in Williamson where I was previously superintendent of schools. We have four children and five grandchildren, and we treasure our family time. Together as a family we enjoy hiking, biking, running, cooking, gardening, music, football (Go Bills!), and spending time outdoors.

I look forward to meeting and partnering with you as we carry out this mission and goals. Feel free to introduce yourself or to stop in and say hello.

Respectfully,
Greg Macaluso, Ed.D
Red Creek Interim Superintendent
